假使原來不像你預期意思

如果你想表達的是某件事情或某個情況與你原先的預期不同，你可以這樣說：

"The situation turned out to be different from what I had expected."

或者

"The results were not what I had anticipated."

如果你想表達的是某個詞語或句子並不是你原先所理解的意思，你可以這樣說：

"The word/phrase is used in a different context than I originally thought."

或者

"The meaning of the sentence was not what I had originally interpreted."
