Tubal cancer的意思

"Tubal cancer" is a term that refers to cancer that originates in the fallopian tubes, which are the tubes that connect the ovaries to the uterus in women. Fallopian tube cancer is a relatively rare form of cancer, accounting for only about 1-2% of all gynecologic cancers.

There are two main types of fallopian tube cancer:

  1. Serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC), which is considered a precursor to invasive cancer and is often found in women who have BRCA mutations.
  2. Invasive tubal carcinoma, which has spread beyond the fallopian tube and can metastasize to other parts of the body.

Symptoms of tubal cancer can be vague and may include abdominal pain, bloating, irregular vaginal bleeding, or pelvic pain. However, many women with tubal cancer do not have symptoms in the early stages of the disease.

Diagnosis typically involves a combination of imaging tests, such as ultrasound or MRI, and a biopsy to confirm the presence of cancer cells. Treatment often includes surgery to remove the affected fallopian tube(s) and possibly other reproductive organs, as well as chemotherapy to kill any remaining cancer cells.

It's important to consult with a healthcare professional for accurate diagnosis and treatment of any suspected cancer.
