Senior high意思

"Senior high" is an English term used to refer to the final phase of secondary education, typically the last two or three years of high school. In the United States, for example, high school education is divided into two main parts: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. The term "senior high" specifically refers to the senior year, which is the final year of high school before students graduate and typically enter college or the workforce.

During the senior year, students may take advanced courses, prepare for college entrance exams, apply to universities, and participate in various extracurricular activities and events that mark the culmination of their high school experience. The term "senior" is also used to refer to the students in their final year of high school, as opposed to "juniors," "sophomores," and "freshmen," who are in their third, second, and first year, respectively.

In some educational systems, particularly in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries, the term "senior high" is not commonly used. Instead, the final years of secondary education might be referred to as "sixth form" or "Year 12 and 13" (in the UK), and students are often referred to as "sixth formers." The terminology can vary significantly between different countries and even within different educational systems within the same country.
