Leading 1意思

"Leading 1" is a term used in typography and design, specifically referring to the space between lines of text. It is called a "leading 1" because the term "leading" comes from the old practice of inserting thin strips of lead between the lines of metal type to increase the space between them.

The leading value is expressed as a fraction, with the numerator representing the point size of the text and the denominator representing the amount of space added between lines. For example, a leading of 1 means that there is an additional point of space added between each line of text, so if the text is 12 points, the leading would be 12/1, or simply 12 points.

In modern digital typography, leading is typically adjusted in software like word processors or design tools. The leading can be set to "single" (usually equivalent to 1/2 the point size), "double" (1 point of space added), or any other value to achieve the desired spacing between lines. Proper leading can help improve readability and the overall appearance of text.
