Isoparm意思

"Isoparm" is a term used in computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), particularly in the context of surface modeling. It refers to a line or curve on a surface that has a constant value for a particular parameter. In other words, it is a contour of a parameter space that connects points of equal parameter values.

In the context of parametric surface modeling, surfaces are often defined by a set of equations or mathematical functions that take one or more parameters as inputs. These parameters can control various aspects of the surface, such as its shape, size, or position. Isoparms are used to visualize and interact with these surfaces by allowing the user to select, move, or modify the surface based on specific parameter values.

For example, if a surface is defined by a function that takes two parameters (u and v), an isoparm of the u parameter would be a curve on the surface where all points have the same u value, while the v value varies. Similarly, an isoparm of the v parameter would be a curve where the v value is constant, and the u value varies.

Isoparms are useful for navigating and editing surfaces, as they provide a way to isolate and manipulate specific features or sections of a surface without affecting the rest of the surface. They are also used in animation and simulation, where changes in parameter values can be used to create dynamic movements or changes in the surface over time.
