Intensive distribution意思

Intensive distribution refers to a strategy in marketing where a company sells its products through as many retail outlets as possible to maximize the product's availability to consumers. The goal is to ensure that the product is available in every retail store that would be likely to carry it, thereby increasing the chances that consumers will encounter the product and make a purchase.

This strategy is often used for products that are not high-ticket items and that consumers tend to buy frequently, such as soft drinks, snacks, and personal care products. By making these products widely available, companies can increase sales and market share.

Intensive distribution is contrasted with selective distribution, where a company sells its products through a limited number of carefully chosen retail outlets, and exclusive distribution, where a company sells its products through only one retail outlet in a particular area.
