Hemophobia意思

Hemophobia is the irrational fear of blood. It is a type of specific phobia, which is an intense, persistent, and unreasonable fear of something that poses little or no actual danger. People with hemophobia may experience extreme anxiety, panic attacks, or other physiological responses when exposed to blood, even in small amounts or in contexts that are not life-threatening. This fear can significantly impact a person's daily life, leading to avoidance of situations where blood might be present, such as medical procedures, injury to themselves or others, or even seeing blood in media or in real life. Treatment for hemophobia often involves cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and sometimes medication to help manage the anxiety associated with the phobia.
