Fatty liver意思

"Fatty liver" is a condition where there is an accumulation of excess fat in the liver cells. This can occur in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic forms.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common form and is associated with obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, and metabolic syndrome. It is often diagnosed through a routine blood test or during imaging scans for other reasons.

Alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD) is caused by heavy alcohol consumption and can lead to liver inflammation, cirrhosis, and other serious liver diseases.

Early stages of fatty liver may not cause any symptoms, but as the condition progresses, it can lead to fatigue, abdominal pain, and jaundice. In severe cases, it can lead to liver failure and require a liver transplant.
