Bank shot意思

"Bank shot" is a term used in pool and billiards that refers to a shot where the cue ball hits the object ball off a rail (the cushions that line the table) before the object ball hits the pocket. In other words, the cue ball is intentionally hit so that it bounces off a cushion and then strikes the object ball, which then goes into a pocket or otherwise achieves the desired result.

Bank shots can be used to position the object ball more accurately, to hit an object ball that is difficult to reach directly, or to manipulate the cue ball's position after the initial contact with the object ball. They require precise aiming and a good understanding of the angles and speeds involved in the game.

The term "bank shot" can also be used metaphorically in other contexts to mean a strategic action that uses an intermediary or takes advantage of a particular setup to achieve a goal.
